Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers will travel to Tokyo and Seoul from March 27 to April 2. During her visit, Under Secretary Rogers will meet with government counterparts and private sector leaders to advance key bilateral and trilateral issues, reaffirm the Trump Administration’s commitment to defending freedom of expression and digital freedom, and highlight American excellence through celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary.
In Tokyo, the Under Secretary will meet with government of Japan counterparts, celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the Japanese Grand Prix with one of the leading Japanese investors in the United States, and hold a dialogue on regional interconnectivity with alumni of the U.S.-Japan-ROK Young Trilateral Leaders Network.
In Seoul, the Under Secretary will lead the second U.S.–ROK Public Diplomacy Dialogue, convene U.S. exchange program alumni, and advance partnerships to support U.S. shipbuilding workforce development. The Under Secretary’s visit will promote coordination around digital freedom, deepen people-to-people ties, and better align public diplomacy with shared economic and regional security objectives.
