Steel Fittings from India and South Korea: Five-Year Review Notice
Summary
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has determined to conduct full five-year reviews of the countervailing duty order on forged steel fittings from India and the antidumping duty orders on forged steel fittings from India and South Korea. These reviews will assess whether revoking these orders would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury.
What changed
The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has issued a notice determining to proceed with full five-year reviews of existing trade remedy orders concerning forged steel fittings from India and South Korea. Specifically, the Commission will review the countervailing duty order on imports from India and the antidumping duty orders on imports from both India and South Korea. This determination follows the institution of reviews and an assessment of interested party responses, with the Commission finding responses from South Korea adequate and proceeding with full reviews for both countries to ensure administrative efficiency.
Regulated entities involved in the import or export of forged steel fittings from India and South Korea should be aware that these trade remedy orders are subject to continued review. While a specific schedule for the reviews has not yet been established, the USITC will announce it at a later date. Interested parties will have opportunities to participate in these reviews, which will determine the future of these duties. The outcome of these reviews could impact the cost and availability of these products in the U.S. market.
What to do next
- Monitor USITC dockets for the establishment of a schedule for the full five-year reviews.
- Prepare to submit relevant data and arguments if designated as an interested party in the reviews.
