What changed
This notice from Hampshire County Council announces the award of contracts for independent fostering agencies (IFAs) to support its looked-after children. The specific award detailed is for standard foster placements to LOTUS FOSTER CARE LTD, with a contract value of £0 (excluding and including VAT) as individual placements will be made as needed. The contract is set to run from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2030, with a possible extension of up to four years.
While this is a contract award notice and not a rule, it signifies a procurement outcome for fostering services. Compliance officers in the social services sector, particularly those involved with government contracting or child welfare services, should note the contracting authority and the nature of the services procured. The notice indicates a multi-lot call-off structure, suggesting other agencies may also be awarded contracts for different types of placements, and that new suppliers can apply to join throughout the contract's life.
