What changed
This preliminary market engagement notice initiates a soft market assessment for a countywide IDVA service covering Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, and Luton. The co-commissioning parties seek to understand market interest before issuing the formal tender. Potential providers, particularly SMEs and VCSEs specializing in domestic abuse advocacy and support services, should review the engagement requirements and prepare for the formal procurement process expected to launch 31 July 2026.
Affected parties include domestic abuse advocacy organizations, social enterprises, and specialist charities that may wish to bid for or collaborate on this public health service contract. The three-year initial contract term (with potential two-year extension) represents a significant commissioning opportunity in the domestic abuse sector. Providers should register on the portal to receive updates and consider attending any in-person market engagement events if sufficient interest is indicated.
