What changed

The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), on behalf of the Subcommittee on Advanced Manufacturing, has extended the deadline for public comment on its Request for Information (RFI) concerning the development of a National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing. The original RFI, published on June 20, 2025, sought input on federal programs and activities to advance U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, R&D, job creation, economic growth, national security, and healthcare improvements.

Regulated entities and interested parties now have until March 30, 2026, to submit their responses. This extension provides additional time for stakeholders to contribute their perspectives, which will inform the final strategic plan. No specific penalties are mentioned for non-participation, but input is crucial for shaping future manufacturing policy.
