Summary

The USPTO has published a new patent application (US20260088887A1) detailing an antenna switching method for communication devices. The application, filed on December 3, 2025, describes a system that supports terminals with more than four receiving antennas by configuring SRS resource set groups.

What changed

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has published a new patent application, US20260088887A1, concerning an antenna switching method and communication device. The application, filed on December 3, 2025, outlines a method that involves transmitting configuration information indicating multiple sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set groups. Each group can contain at least one SRS resource set, and the configuration supports terminal devices with more than four receiving antennas.

This filing represents a new intellectual property disclosure and does not impose immediate regulatory obligations on companies. However, it may be of interest to technology companies and manufacturers involved in wireless communication device development, particularly those working with advanced antenna systems and signal processing. Compliance officers in these sectors should note this as a potential indicator of future technological trends and patent landscapes.

ANTENNA SWITCHING METHOD, TERMINAL DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE

Application US20260088887A1 Kind: A1 Mar 26, 2026

Inventors

Abstract

An antenna switching method and a communication device are provided. The method includes transmitting, by a communication device, configuration information. The configuration message indicates M sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set groups, each SRS resource set group contains at least one SRS resource set, and M is 1, 2 or 3, and a resourceType field corresponding to at least one SRS resource set in one SRS resource set group is configured to be a same value. Each SRS resource set group corresponds to a corresponding antenna switching configuration that supports a first terminal device to have more than four receiving antennas.
