Lockhart State Park Expands by 188 Acres with Nature Conservancy Partnership
TPWD has acquired 188 acres of neighboring land at Lockhart State Park, nearly doubling the park's size to approximately 453 acres. The acquisition was completed in partnership with The Nature Conservancy in Texas and includes native blackland prairie, a portion of Clear Fork of Plum Creek, and riparian woodlands. Agency teams will conduct natural and cultural resource surveys to guide future management plans and visitor interpretive exhibits.
