Associated British Ports (ABP) has awarded a £2,520,000 contract to Shenzhen Cubenergy Co., Ltd. for the supply of battery technology (cells, enclosures, inverters, PCS, BMS) for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Port of Southampton. The award decision was published on 22 April 2026 with a standstill period ending 1 May 2026 (8 working days). The contract, awarded via open procedure under the Utilities special regime of the Procurement Act 2023, is estimated to run from 1 June 2026 through 1 June 2027.
