USPTO granted Patent US12605068B2 to OPTOMED PLC for an ophthalmic apparatus with an alignment arrangement that outputs converging alignment light rays forming a predetermined reflection pattern on a target plane. The apparatus includes a communication interface that outputs reflection pattern information from the posterior surface of the eye's crystalline lens to guide or control user positioning by finding the working distance where the predetermined pattern shape appears on the posterior surface.
