FL AG Launches Antitrust Investigation Against Major Corporations and Environmental Groups

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued Civil Investigative Demands (CIDs) to eight major corporations and four environmental groups as part of an antitrust investigation into potential collusion through environmental partnerships. The targets include Unilever, Coca-Cola, Target, Nestle, Mondelez International Holdings LLC, the U.S. Plastics Pact, the Consumer Goods Forum, and the Green Blue Institute. The CIDs require production of communications, documents related to 'problematic materials' lists, and records of steps taken to eliminate such materials and the resulting economic impact on consumers. All documentation must be provided by May 27, 2026.

Torres v. Blue Bottle Coffee, LLC was filed on April 16, 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The civil rights case was removed from San Francisco County Superior Court (Case No. CGC-26-634886) by defendant Blue Bottle Coffee, LLC. Blue Bottle Coffee identified Nestle Holdings, Inc. and Nestle S.A. as interested entities in the matter.

Nestlé Granted Patent for Green Coffee Insulin Treatment Composition

USPTO granted Patent US12599643B2 to Societe des Produits Nestle S.A. for green coffee-based compositions comprising hydrolysed chlorogenic acid for improving insulin profile. The patent covers compositions for treating or preventing disorders linked to increased plasma postprandial insulin, including esterase treated decaffeinated green coffee extract with 40-200 mg daily dosage. The patent contains 16 claims and was filed March 27, 2020.

Nestle Patent for MCTs Improving Cognitive Function

The USPTO has granted Nestle a patent (US12582627B2) for MCT formulations designed to improve cognitive functions, such as memory and executive function, and to prevent or treat mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The patent specifies daily dosages and composition ratios of medium chain triglycerides, particularly octanoic acid.
