Kirsten Joppe, a German governance expert with over two decades of experience in peace operations and human rights, was appointed Head of Mission for the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova) by the EU's Political and Security Committee. She will assume duties on 25 April 2026, succeeding Cosmin Dinescu. Joppe previously served as Deputy Head of Mission and Chief of Staff at EUPM Moldova since November 2024, after more than six years in Ukraine with the European Advisory Mission to Ukraine (EUAM), where she oversaw strategic reform, digitalisation, human rights, gender equality, and anti-corruption.
