Health Information Interoperability and Data Blocking Prohibition
The Senate of Canada has introduced Bill S-5, An Act respecting the interoperability of health information in Canada and the prohibition of data blocking by health information technology vendors. The bill passed second reading on March 26, 2026 and has been referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology for consideration.
