TUV SUD America OSHA Recognition Expansion

OSHA is seeking public comments on its information collection request (OMB Control No. 1218-0236) regarding retaliation complaints filed under Section 11(c) of the OSH Act and related whistleblower protection statutes. The agency must obtain OMB approval to continue collecting information about employee complaints alleging retaliation for exercising safety and health rights. Comments are requested on whether the collection is necessary, the accuracy of burden estimates, and the quality of utility of the information.

Delay of Silica Exposure Rule Amendments for Miners

MSHA issued a final rule delaying indefinitely the effective date of conforming amendments to 30 CFR parts 56 and 57 from the 2024 Silica Rule. The delay follows an Eighth Circuit Court order staying the 2024 rule's compliance deadlines pending judicial review. Existing standards under 30 CFR 56.5001, 56.5005, 57.5001, and 57.5005 remain in effect until the judicial stay is terminated.

TÜV SÜD Product Services Voluntary NRTL Termination

OSHA announced the voluntary termination of TÜV SÜD Product Services GmbH's (TUVPSG) recognition as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), effective March 5, 2026. TUVPSG notified OSHA on May 22, 2025, that it would not seek renewal of its recognition expiring March 5, 2026, and transferred existing certifications to TÜV SÜD America, Inc.
