South SWP Hydroelectric Project No. 2426 - Revised Environmental Impact Statement Schedule
FERC staff has revised the procedural schedule for the Draft and Final Environmental Impact Statement for the South SWP Hydroelectric Project No. 2426. The Draft EIS target date has been moved to August 7, 2026, with comments due September 21, 2026. The Final EIS is now scheduled for March 31, 2027. The co-licensees, California Department of Water Resources and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, should note the revised milestones for the 1,350-megawatt project's relicensing process.
Bath County Pumped Storage Project No. 2716 Environmental Assessment Notice
FERC issued a notice that staff will prepare an Environmental Assessment for the Bath County Pumped Storage Project relicensing application. The 2,484-megawatt pumped storage facility is located on Back Creek and Little Back Creek in Virginia counties. Based on the record, staff does not anticipate the project constitutes a major federal action significantly affecting the environment. The target date for EA issuance is November 20, 2026.
Exempt Wholesale Generator and Electric Rate Filings Received
FERC received exempt wholesale generator self-certification filings from Snapdragon Solar, LLC and E South Hero Co. LLC, and multiple electric rate filings including tariff amendments, refund reports, and compliance filings from entities including PJM Interconnection, L.L.C., Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc., Duke Energy Indiana, LLC, and SR Bacon, LLC and related entities. Comment deadlines are April 28-29, 2026.

Saguaro Connector Pipeline Extension Request - Border Facility Project
Saguaro Connector Pipeline, LLC requested FERC grant an extension of time until February 15, 2030 to construct and place into service its Border Facility Project. The project involves an approximately 1,000 foot-long, 48-inch-diameter pipeline from the United States-Mexico border at the center of the Rio Grande River to a point approximately 1,000 feet inland, located about 18 miles southwest of Sierra Blanca in Hudspeth County, Texas. The original Order required completion by February 15, 2027. FERC has established a 15-calendar day intervention and comment period.
Environmental Assessment for Southern Star Viola Natural Gas Pipeline Project
FERC staff announces preparation of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline's Viola Project in Sumner County, Kansas. The project involves constructing approximately 19.33 miles of 16-inch natural gas pipeline (Line UA), a compressor station with 12,375 horsepower, and metering facilities to supply up to 116,296 dekatherms per day to Evergy Kansas Central's 710-megawatt combined cycle power plant. The EA will be issued October 9, 2026, with a 90-day federal authorization decision deadline of January 7, 2027.
MountainWest Overthrust Pipeline Motion to Vacate Certificate for Cabin 31 Facilities
FERC published notice that MountainWest Overthrust Pipeline, LLC filed a motion on March 11, 2026 to vacate the portion of its certificate authorizing the Cabin 31 pig launcher facilities. The company has completed most project facilities creating 325,000 dekatherms/day of capacity but cites delays in obtaining a BLM right-of-way grant and a private landowner agreement as reasons it has not begun construction at Cabin 31. The company states the facilities are auxiliary and unnecessary for full project capacity. FERC seeks comments and interventions by April 28, 2026.
