Final Determinations on Capacity Market Disputes 2025-2026

Ofgem published final Tier 2 determinations on Capacity Market disputes for the 2025-2026 Delivery Year. The determinations review whether the Delivery Body correctly applied Capacity Market Regulations and Rules when reaching prequalification decisions. Eleven dispute determinations were published covering companies including Capbal (Kilwinning) Limited, OakTree Power Limited, Flexion Energy Holdings UK LTD, and others.

NRC Sunshine Act Meeting Schedule: April 13 – May 18, 2026

The NRC published its Sunshine Act meeting schedule covering April 13 through May 18, 2026. The schedule includes three public Commission meetings: a meeting with the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (April 21), a briefing on Human Capital and Equal Employment Opportunity (May 5), and a Strategic Programmatic Overview of Fuel Facilities and Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation business lines (May 7). All meetings will be held in Rockville, Maryland, and are open to the public in person or via webcast.

Advanced Reactor Regulatory Framework Correction - Amendatory Instructions

The NRC issued corrections to final rule 91 FR 15696, fixing minor errors in amendatory instructions for 10 CFR §§ 20.1002, 20.1401, 51.22 and Part 53. The corrections address duplicate word errors and conflicting instructions between the Advanced Reactor Framework rule and the Categorical Exclusions from Environmental Review rule, both published March 30, 2026. The corrected rule takes effect April 29, 2026.

DCPSC Schedules Evidentiary Hearing May 12 for Pepco Rate Case Remand

The DC Public Service Commission has scheduled an evidentiary hearing for May 12, 2026, in the remand proceeding for Pepco's electric distribution rates (Formal Case No. 1176). The D.C. Court of Appeals vacated the Commission's prior rate approval in March 2026, determining a formal evidentiary hearing was required to resolve disputed material issues of fact. Parties must file supplemental briefs by April 6, 2026, after which the Commission will issue an order on interim rates.

DC PSC Approves Modified WGL District SAFE Plan, Reduces Budget 30%

The District of Columbia Public Service Commission approved a modified District SAFE Plan for WGL's pipeline replacement program, reducing the proposed budget by approximately 30% from $214M to $150M over three years. The Commission established annual spending caps of $45M, $50M, and $55M with no rollover provisions, and set cost recovery thresholds of $10M, $12.5M, and $15M annually. The order requires enhanced reporting using JANA Lighthouse risk prioritization modeling.

Texas Eastern Longwall Mining Panel M2/M3 Project Application

FERC issued a notice that Texas Eastern Transmission, LP filed an application under Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act for its Longwall Mining Panel M2/M3 Project in Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. The project involves replacing 4.4 miles across four existing natural gas pipeline segments at an estimated cost of $142.2 million. No new permanent right-of-way is proposed and certificated design capacities will remain unchanged.

Powerhouse Systems Subsequent Minor License - Weston Dam Project (FERC Project 7883-020)

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has accepted for filing and opened for public comment Powerhouse Systems LLC's application for a subsequent minor license for the Weston Dam Project (P-7883-020), a 220-foot hydroelectric dam on the Upper Ammonoosuc River in Coos County, New Hampshire. The project includes a concrete-covered stone and timber crib dam, a 30-acre impoundment, and associated intake and powerhouse facilities. Comments on motions to intervene, protests, and preliminary terms are due by June 5, 2026, with reply comments due July 20, 2026.

FERC Institutes Section 206 Investigation of Tucson Electric Power Market-Based Rate Authority

On April 3, 2026, FERC issued Order EL26-55-000 instituting a Section 206 investigation into whether Tucson Electric Power Company, UNS Electric, Inc., and UniSource Energy Development Company's market-based rate authority in the Tucson Electric balancing authority area is unjust, unreasonable, unduly discriminatory or preferential, or otherwise unlawful under the Federal Power Act. The refund effective date will be the publication date in the Federal Register.

Northern Lights Wildfire Mitigation Plan Approval, Case C10-E-26-01

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission issued a Notice of Parties for Case No. C10-E-26-01 regarding Northern Lights, Inc.'s application for approval of its 2026-2028 Wildfire Mitigation Plan. The notice identifies the parties to the proceeding and their representatives, and provides procedural requirements for testimony, exhibits, discovery, and filings per IDAPA 31.01.01 rules.
