Abstract
Methods and compositions using Dichrostachys glomerata or Cissus quadrangularis separately to provide a variety of health benefits, including but not limited to, increase GLP-1 levels and reduce or decrease visceral fat, food intake, blood lipids, total cholesterol and total glucose in a mammal. In one embodiment, a composition for reducing visceral fat in a mammal is provided where the composition comprises an effective amount of Dichrostachys glomerata provided as an oral dosage unit in the form of a pill, capsule, liquid, lozenge or tablet.
