Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to cellulose powders having improved dispersibility, feel, and stability in which the powders are surface modified with at least a modified dextrin and/or a modified amino acid to render the cellulose powder hydrophobic. The powders may be used in cosmetic compositions such as a powder foundation, liquid foundation, point makeup, lip, mascara, eyeliner, skin care products which are skin cream, hair care products which are shampoo, conditioner, treatment and hair styling products, hair color products, cleansing products which are a body soap, hand soap and facial cleanser.
