Cataract follow-up determinants in rural India, Seva Canada Society

This study registration documents a new observational research project focused on understanding why cataract patients in rural India do or do not return for follow-up care after initial surgery. The study will enroll approximately 450 participants across rural settings and collect data on demographic, socioeconomic, and healthcare access factors. No prior version exists as this represents a new research initiative.

For organizations operating eye health programs in similar settings, this study may yield actionable insights into patient adherence determinants. Healthcare NGOs, public health researchers, and eyecare program administrators should monitor publication of findings for evidence-based guidance on improving follow-up rates in resource-limited settings.
