Summary

The Humber Bridge Act 1959 (Amendment) Order 2026 amends the Humber Bridge Act 1959, replacing the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership with the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority and Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority as the nominating bodies for the Humber Bridge Board. This change is effective March 10, 2026.

What changed

The Humber Bridge Act 1959 (Amendment) Order 2026, effective March 10, 2026, amends Section 6(1)(e) of the Humber Bridge Act 1959. It replaces the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership with the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority and the Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority as the bodies responsible for nominating directors to the Humber Bridge Board. This change addresses an inoperative nominating body.

This amendment is administrative and does not foresee significant impact on private, voluntary, or public sectors. No specific compliance actions are required for regulated entities beyond awareness of the updated nominating authorities for the Humber Bridge Board. The Department for Transport has assessed that no impact assessment is necessary due to the lack of anticipated significant impact.
