Summary

The Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission has issued correcting amendments to its procedural rules. These corrections address a typographical error and an incorrect date in previously published final regulations governing administrative trial and appellate review.

What changed

The Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission has published correcting amendments to its procedural rules, specifically addressing errors found in regulations published on January 17, 2025. The corrections involve changing the word "sealing" to "unsealing" in 29 CFR 2700.5(e)(6) and correcting a day of the week to align with a date in 29 CFR 2700.8(e)(1). These are technical corrections to ensure accuracy in the administrative process.

These amendments are effective February 20, 2026. Regulated entities, particularly employers involved in mine safety and health cases, should be aware of these corrections to ensure their filings and understanding of procedural timelines are accurate. No new obligations or penalties are introduced by these specific corrections, but adherence to the corrected rules is expected.
