What changed

This enforcement action represents a significant labor inspection intervention in Spain's fast food sector. The joint operation by ITSS Cádiz and the Policía Nacional (UCRIF) resulted in the arrest of a businessman and documented labor, immigration, and Social Security violations at five kebab establishments. The documented exploitation patterns—abusive hours, denial of rest days, surveillance, harassment, and sub-minimum wages—establish concrete violations of Spanish labor law. Establishments employing foreign workers, particularly in the fast food sector, should review their compliance with working time regulations, employment authorization verification requirements, and Social Security registration obligations. The pending conclusion of the investigation suggests additional enforcement actions may follow.
