LANSING, Mich. — The State Land Bank Authority (SLBA) is accepting proposals for the redevelopment of the former Bob’s Marathon gas station in Grand Ledge. The property, located at 105 East Saginaw Highway, is approximately 0.39 acres and sits at the high visibility intersection of M-43 and Jenne Street.

Since acquiring the property, SLBA has completed demolition of existing structures and worked with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to facilitate the opportunity for redevelopment.

“Redevelopment opportunities like this one in Grand Ledge underscore the State Land Bank Authority’s broader mission to help communities revitalize properties that have sat idle for far too long,” said State Land Bank Director Joseph Rivet. “By preparing sites for new investment and partnering with local stakeholders, we’re able to support projects that strengthen neighborhoods and create renewed economic energy. We’re excited to see proposals that reimagine this prominent corner and contribute to the continued vibrancy of the Grand Ledge community.”

The property formerly operated as Bob’s Marathon from the late 1990’s to 2009 as a commercial gas station and service center. A summary of prior environmental assessments and response actions are included in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Prospective Developer(s) must undertake appropriate assessment and due care in re-use of the property. SLBA will consider redevelopment proposals for the site that enhance the Grand Ledge community and is the highest and best use of the property.

Proposals are due April 8, 2026. Learn more about the property and RFP online.
