Former Philippines president faces crimes against humanity charges for 'war on drugs' campaign.

Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court unanimously confirmed all three counts of crimes against humanity brought by the Prosecutor against Rodrigo Roa Duterte, including murder and attempted murder. The crimes were found to have been committed as part of a widespread and systematic attack against a civilian population during the "war on drugs" campaign in the Philippines between 1 November 2011 and 16 March 2019. The Chamber concluded there are substantial grounds to believe Mr Duterte is responsible under Article 7(1)(a) of the Rome Statute, and he has been committed to trial before a Trial Chamber.
