Summary

The Oklahoma Market Assistance Program (OK-MAP) has issued its annual $150 assessment to all insurers licensed in Oklahoma for both property and casualty lines of business. Invoices will be sent during the first week of May 2026, with payment due September 1, 2026. Insurers who fail to pay the assessment face penalties under 36 O.S. § 6422, including revocation of their certificate of authority and/or a civil fine of up to $5,000.

“The assessment is $150; all "member" insurers will receive an invoice for that amount during the first week of May 2026.”

OK OID , verbatim from source
Why this matters

Property and casualty insurers holding Oklahoma licenses should confirm whether they qualify as OK-MAP members under 36 O.S. § 6413 (both property AND casualty lines required) and ensure they receive and pay the $150 invoice by September 1, 2026. The $5,000 civil penalty ceiling under 36 O.S. § 6422 applies to non-payment specifically, so insurers uncertain of their status should proactively contact OK-MAP rather than assume non-applicability.

What changed

The Oklahoma Market Assistance Program has issued its 2026 annual assessment of $150 to all property and casualty insurers licensed in Oklahoma. The statute defines "member" insurers as those holding licenses for both property and casualty lines of business under 36 O.S. § 6413. The bulletin confirms that 36 O.S. § 6422 mandates participation in all program assessments and writings, with enforcement mechanisms available against non-paying members.

Oklahoma-licensed property and casualty insurers should confirm their OK-MAP member status and ensure timely payment by the September 1, 2026 deadline. The assessment must be sent to the OK-MAP address provided, not to the Oklahoma Insurance Department. Insurers that do not receive an invoice but believe they meet the member definition should contact OK-MAP directly to confirm their standing and avoid potential certificate of authority revocation or civil penalties.

What to do next

  1. Confirm OK-MAP member status if licensed for property and casualty in Oklahoma
  2. Pay the $150 assessment by September 1, 2026
  3. Remit payment to OK-MAP, PO Box 13488, Oklahoma City, OK 73113

Penalties

Under 36 O.S. § 6422, failure to pay may result in revocation of certificate of authority and/or a fine of up to $5,000
