ICE Requests NJ Politicians Not Release Criminal Alien Accused of Assault
Summary
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has requested New Jersey politicians not release Gerardo Garcia Gonzalez, an undocumented immigrant accused of sexual assault. The individual had previously been removed from the U.S. but re-entered illegally.
What changed
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a request to New Jersey politicians, specifically those in "sanctuary" jurisdictions, urging them not to release Gerardo Garcia Gonzalez. Gonzalez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, was arrested by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office on charges including sexual assault of a minor under 15 years old, criminal sexual contact, and sexual assault by force or coercion. ICE highlights that Gonzalez illegally entered the U.S. in 2001, was removed, and subsequently re-entered the country illegally.
This action underscores ICE's efforts to ensure individuals accused of serious crimes, particularly those with prior removals, are not released back into communities, potentially posing further risks. While this is a specific request regarding an individual, it reflects a broader enforcement priority concerning public safety and immigration violations. Regulated entities, particularly government agencies and legal professionals involved in immigration and criminal justice, should be aware of ICE's stance on such cases and the potential implications for local sanctuary policies.
What to do next
- Review ICE's stated position on the release of individuals accused of serious crimes, especially those with prior removals.
- Assess internal policies and procedures related to cooperation with federal immigration enforcement requests.
- Stay informed on state and local legislative or policy changes regarding sanctuary jurisdictions.

NEW JERSEY NIGHTMARE: ICE Asks NJ Sanctuary Politicians to Not Release Criminal Illegal Alien Accused of Assaulting and Fondling Minor under 15 Years Old
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requested New Jersey sanctuary politicians not release Gerardo Garcia Gonzalez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, after he was arrested by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault of a victim between 13 and 15 years old, criminal sexual contact, and sexual assault by force/coercion.
Gonzalez illegally entered the U.S. in 2001 and was returned to Mexico. He chose to commit a felony and illegally re-enter the country at an unknown date and location.
Gerardo Garcia Gonzalez
“This pedophile should NEVER have been in our country and able to prey on children in the first place,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “We are calling on New Jersey sanctuary politicians to NOT release this predator charged with sexually assaulting a child from jail into New Jersey neighborhoods. This is the exact reason we need sanctuary jurisdictions to work with us. No one should want this sicko to be on our streets.”
Sanctuary politicians in New Jersey have proposed legislation and issued executive orders designed to demonize our brave ICE law enforcement. Attorney General Jennifer Davenport created a portal to alert residents of ICE actions—a dangerous attempt to doxx agents. Democrats in the state legislature proposed the F**K ICE Act, a bill allowing residents to sue law enforcement as they already face a 1,300% increase in assaults and 8,000% increase in death threats against them.
DHS law enforcement is protecting American communities every day from another senseless tragedy like this taking place in another town, to another family. Victims of illegal alien crime may receive support from the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office by contacting 1-855-488-6423.
