Washington State Revokes, Suspends Health Care Provider Licenses
Summary
The Washington State Department of Health has revoked and suspended licenses and certifications for several health care providers. Actions include the indefinite suspension of a home care aide credential due to suspected theft and failure to respond to inquiries.
What changed
The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has issued disciplinary actions, including license revocations and suspensions, against multiple health care providers. Specifically, Shannon Marie Treece's home care aide credential was indefinitely suspended in February 2026 following complaints of suspected patient theft and her non-responsiveness to the department's investigation. The DOH emphasizes that information on provider license status and disciplinary actions is available on their website.
Healthcare providers in Washington must ensure their credentials are in good standing and be aware that disciplinary actions are publicly recorded. Failure to cooperate with DOH investigations or engaging in professional misconduct, such as theft from patients, can lead to severe consequences, including license suspension or revocation. Regulated entities should review their internal compliance procedures to prevent such violations and ensure timely responses to regulatory inquiries.
What to do next
- Review disciplinary actions taken by the Washington DOH.
- Ensure all health care providers maintain current and valid credentials.
- Respond promptly to all inquiries from the Washington DOH.
