Ultrasound Simulation System Patent, Simhawk Ltd
Summary
USPTO granted patent US12599364B2 to Simhawk Ltd on April 14, 2026, for an ultrasound simulation system. The invention comprises a camera, physical tridimensional reference element attached to an ultrasound transducer, and processing module that digitally images the reference element, determines spatial data relative to a virtual location-identifying orientation, and displays ultrasound data when spatial data matches. The patent contains 24 claims under CPC classification A61B 8/4245.
What changed
USPTO granted patent US12599364B2 to Simhawk Ltd for an ultrasound simulation system invention. The patent covers systems and methods involving cameras, physical tridimensional reference elements attached to ultrasound transducers, and processing modules that digitally image reference elements and determine spatial data for displaying ultrasound examination information.
For medical device manufacturers and healthcare technology companies, this patent establishes intellectual property protection for Simhawk Ltd in the ultrasound simulation space. Competitors developing similar ultrasound training or simulation technologies should review the claims to assess potential infringement risks. Abstract
Aspects of some embodiments of the invention relate to systems and methods for simulating an ultrasound, comprising a camera, a physical tridimensional reference element attached to an ultrasound transducer of an ultrasound device and a processing module comprising instructions to perform the following while performing an ultrasound examination or after performing the ultrasound examination and spatial location of the documented information: digitally imaging a physical tridimensional reference element, determining from said imaging a second spatial data of said physical tridimensional reference element relative to a virtual location-identifying orientation; displaying said ultrasound data when said second spatial data is the same as said first spatial data and said orientation of a patient is the same as said virtual location-identifying orientation.
