Merthyr Tydfil Children's Services Consultation, Deadline 13 May

Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) will conduct an assurance check of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Children's Services during May 2026. The review will assess the local authority's performance in exercising Social Services duties and functions in line with legislation on behalf of Welsh Ministers. CIW is inviting members of the public who receive services from Merthyr Tydfil's children's services team to share their experiences via online surveys by the 13 May 2026 deadline.

For families and individuals receiving children's services from Merthyr Tydfil council, this consultation provides an opportunity to share experiences and contribute to the regulatory assessment of local authority services. The assurance check itself does not create new legal obligations for service users but represents a routine regulatory quality assurance process. Participation is voluntary, and findings will be published on the CIW website following the review.
