Abstract

A system and method for providing dental collaboration. A system is disclosed that includes: a virtual practice private network (VPPN) service configured to establish a unique VPPN for each of a plurality of dental practices, wherein each VPPN grants access rights to a unique set of users; an adaptable integration framework (AIF) configured to provide read and write capabilities to disparate practice management systems utilized by the plurality of dental practices; a universal clinical toolset service configured to allow client applications to interact with data from the disparate practice management systems via a universal dental interface (UDI), wherein the UDI includes a system agnostic charting interface, a system agnostic notes interface, a system agnostic periodontics interface, and a system agnostic imaging interface; and a collaboration service configured to allow the unique set of users of an associated VPPN to capture and share information in a collaboration interface within the UDI.
