MDHHS seeks applications for victim advocacy and response services

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has issued a Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO) for victim advocacy and system response services.

STOP (Services, Training, Officers, and Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Formula Grants are awarded to states to develop and strengthen the criminal justice system’s response to violence against women and to support and enhance services for victims. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Violence Against Women Act supports these projects. The STOP program focuses on the implementation of comprehensive strategies that are sensitive to the needs and safety of victims and holds offenders accountable.

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, private and public entities, local health departments, federally recognized tribes, a group of federally recognized Michigan tribes or an Urban Indian Health Clinic program and universities

The award periods begin Oct. 1, 2026, and ends Sept. 30, 2027. MDHHS expects to award approximately $1.763 million. Project director requests to get access to the applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, April 24. Grant applications must be submitted electronically through the EGrAMS system by 3 p.m., Friday, May 1.

A pre-application conference will be held to provide instruction on using the EGrAMS system. The pre-application conference will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 26, and will last approximately 90 minutes.
