Abstract

The present disclosure provides compositions comprising a designed ankyrin repeat protein (DARPin) for use in treating Shiga toxin (Stx)-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) and related diseases, including hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). The high thermostability and high microbial expression yield make DARPin an attractive alternative to antibody therapeutics.
