Delivered by Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General The Secretary-General is saddened to learn that a fourth Indonesian peacekeeper serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has died. Corporal Rico Pramudia succumbed to his wounds on 24 April after being critically injured in the incident on 29 March 2026, in which one other peacekeeper was killed when a projectile exploded inside United Nations position 7-1 near Adchit Al Qusayr in southern Lebanon. A UNIFIL preliminary findings of the investigation indicated that a shell fired from an Israel Defense Forces Merkava tank struck a UNIFIL position, leading to the deaths of Corporal Rhomadhon and Corporal Pramudia.

The Secretary-General expresses his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Corporal Pramudia, and to the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia. He wishes a full and fast recovery to the injured peacekeepers.
