Summary

The Parliament of Singapore has enacted the Supply Act 2026, authorizing the issuance of approximately S$158.96 billion from the Consolidated Fund and S$49.01 billion from the Development Fund. These funds are appropriated for various government ministries and departments to meet estimated expenditures for the financial year April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

What changed

The Supply Act 2026, enacted by the Parliament of Singapore, authorizes the government to draw funds for the upcoming fiscal year (April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027). Specifically, it permits the issuance of up to S$158,962,520,000 from the Consolidated Fund and S$49,014,559,600 from the Development Fund. These appropriations cover the estimated expenditures across various government ministries and departments, as detailed in the Schedule of the Act.

This legislation establishes the budgetary framework for the specified financial year. Government entities will operate under these allocated funds, which are critical for public services and development projects. Compliance officers within government agencies should ensure adherence to the expenditure limits and heads of expenditure outlined in the Act and its accompanying schedule. The Act comes into operation on April 1, 2026.

What to do next

  1. Ensure government expenditures align with the appropriated sums and heads of expenditure for FY 2026.
  2. Adhere to the commencement date of April 1, 2026, for all financial operations under this Act.
