EC Clears RENGO/MC/MCT/SUN-TOX Merger (Case M.11318)
Summary
The European Commission issued a non-opposition decision for the RENGO/MC/MCT/SUN-TOX merger concentration (Case M.11318). The Commission determined that the proposed transaction would not raise competition concerns within the European Economic Area. The clearance allows the parties to proceed with the transaction without remedies or conditions.
What changed
The European Commission published its non-opposition decision for the RENGO/MC/MCT/SUN-TOX merger concentration. The Commission assessed the proposed transaction under Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (EUMR) and concluded that the merger would not significantly impede effective competition in the internal market or a substantial part of it.
For the merging parties, this clearance removes regulatory uncertainty and allows the transaction to proceed to closing. The decision applies EU-wide under the simplified merger review procedure, indicating the transaction did not meet the thresholds for a full Phase II investigation.
