Joint Board for Enrollment of Actuaries Renews Advisory Committee Charter
Summary
The Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries has renewed the charter for its Advisory Committee on Actuarial Examinations. This committee advises the Joint Board on examination topics, question development, and pass marks for individuals seeking to perform actuarial services for pension plans.
What changed
The Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries has officially renewed the charter for its Advisory Committee on Actuarial Examinations. This renewal ensures the continued operation of the committee, which plays a crucial role in advising the Joint Board on the development, review, and administration of actuarial examinations. These examinations are a statutory requirement for individuals wishing to perform actuarial services related to pension plans under ERISA.
This action is primarily administrative and does not introduce new compliance obligations for regulated entities. The committee's functions remain focused on advising on examination content and processes. Compliance officers should note that the committee's work indirectly supports the integrity of the actuarial profession and the oversight of pension plans, but no immediate action is required based on this charter renewal.
