What changed
SBA formally published notice of the President's major disaster declaration for Idaho, which was originally issued April 7, 2026. The declaration covers straight-line winds occurring December 16-18, 2025, and is designated for Public Assistance Only, meaning it triggers SBA disaster loan eligibility for affected private non-profit organizations. This does not supersede any prior declaration.
Private non-profit organizations in the ten primary Idaho counties (Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone) that provide essential services of a governmental nature should be aware of two application deadlines: June 10, 2026 for physical damage loans, and January 7, 2027 for economic injury loans. Organizations should apply through the MySBA Loan Portal or contact SBA disaster assistance customer service for in-person filing options.
