Gov. Mike Braun Highlights Indiana’s Small Businesses, 400+ High-Wage Jobs, Community Strength in Travel Across the State

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Braun traveled across Indiana last week, with stops in Summitville, Greenfield, Rushville, Liberty, Connersville, Terre Haute, Delphi, Huntington, and Aurora to highlight Indiana’s small businesses, economic development, hundreds of new Hoosier high-wage jobs, and the local leaders and community institutions helping move Indiana forward.

“ My travel throughout our state last week had a little bit of everything: a major groundbreaking that will bring hundreds of new high-wage jobs to a community, small businesses creating great careers in their community, and lots of Hoosier hospitality from the local leaders looking out for their communities and neighbors.” — Governor Mike Braun

Governor Braun joined the Terre Haute Chamber for a fireside chat focused on making life more affordable for Hoosiers and ensuring every region of Indiana can capitalize on its unique strengths to attract new jobs and higher wages.

In Huntington, Governor Braun joined the groundbreaking for Hanjung America’s new manufacturing facility. Full employment at the facility is expected to reach more than 440 Hoosier jobs, with an average wage of more than $28 per hour, representing another major investment in Indiana’s manufacturing economy and workforce.

On the way up, Governor Braun stopped at Hoosier Routes in Summitville for a pork tenderloin and to thank the volunteer firefighters who help keep the community safe.

On Thursday, Governor Braun toured Veraestau Historic Site in Dearborn County, meeting with local leaders and seeing firsthand the work being done to preserve one of Indiana’s historic treasures for future generations. Governor Braun was joined by Mayor Patrick Schwing.

Governor Braun also stopped at Delphi Body Works, where he highlighted the role small businesses play in creating jobs and driving local economies forward in communities across Indiana. Governor Braun thanked Mayor Kamron Yates for hosting the stop.

Governor Braun toured Amplify Hancock County in Greenfield, sat down with local leaders in Rushville, held a community roundtable with local leaders in Liberty hosted by Union County Sheriff Jeff Adams, and held an economic development-focused community roundtable in Connersville.
