FERC: Blackstone Hydro Associates withdraws compliance monitoring plan
Summary
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has terminated the proceeding for Blackstone Hydro Associates' Central Falls Hydroelectric Project No. 3063. The licensee's request to withdraw its Operation Compliance Monitoring Plan was granted, and the withdrawal became effective on March 2, 2026.
What changed
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has terminated the proceeding related to Blackstone Hydro Associates' Operation Compliance Monitoring Plan for the Central Falls Hydroelectric Project No. 3063. The licensee initially filed the plan on November 21, 2024, but subsequently filed a request to withdraw it on February 13, 2026. As no opposition was filed and the Commission took no action to disallow the withdrawal, the withdrawal became effective on March 2, 2026, pursuant to Rule 216(b) of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure.
This action terminates the proceeding and removes the previously filed compliance monitoring plan. Regulated entities, particularly those operating under FERC licenses, should note that the withdrawal of such plans, when unopposed and accepted by the Commission, leads to the termination of related proceedings. No specific actions are required from other entities as this is a withdrawal of a specific filing by a single licensee.
