Summary

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has issued Executive Order 26-67, extending the assignment of State Attorney Amira D. Fox for one year. This extension is necessary to complete duties related to charges pending against Richard L. Ellwood.

What changed

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 26-67 on March 12, 2026, extending the assignment of State Attorney Amira D. Fox. This order reaffirms and extends Executive Order 24-69, as previously extended by Executive Order 25-73, for an additional year, concluding on April 11, 2027. The extension is required because the duties related to charges pending against Richard L. Ellwood have not yet been completed.

This executive order mandates that the Assigned State Attorney notify the Governor by March 11, 2027, if further time is needed. This action is a procedural extension of an existing assignment and does not introduce new regulatory obligations for external entities. The primary implication is for the assigned State Attorney to continue their work on the specified case until its completion or further extension.

What to do next

  1. Notify the Governor by March 11, 2027, if additional time is required for the assignment.
