Summary
The U.S. Department of Education is seeking public comment on a proposed rule regarding the RISE Award program. This notice initiates a 60-day comment period, during which interested parties can submit feedback on the agency's information collection activities related to the award. The comment period closes on May 18, 2026.
What changed
The Department of Education has published a notice requesting public comments on proposed information collection activities related to the RISE Award program. This action initiates a formal consultation period, allowing stakeholders to provide input on the specifics of data collection for this educational award. The notice specifies that comments are due by May 18, 2026.
Affected parties, primarily educational institutions and potentially students or administrators involved with the RISE Award, should review the proposed information collection requirements. Interested entities must submit their comments through the Federal Register portal or Regulations.gov by the May 18, 2026 deadline to ensure their feedback is considered by the Department before the rule is finalized. Failure to comment may result in the proposed information collection activities being implemented without stakeholder input.
