Details
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) invites applications from carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) projects seeking to connect to the East Coast Cluster (ECC) Teesside network by 2032 via non-pipeline transportation.
DESNZ will assess applications through the non-pipeline transport (NPT) Pathfinder selection process to identify projects that could connect to the network and make use of remaining capacity at the Endurance offshore site.
The NPT Pathfinder Selection Process will run alongside the ECC Teesside Selection Process which launched 5 February 2026. See further details of the ECC Teesside Selection Process.

Engagement session
The NPT Pathfinder engagement event will take place on Friday 8 May 2026, 10am to 12pm, via Microsoft Teams.
If you are interested in attending, please register using Eventbrite. Joining instructions will be shared with registered attendees ahead of the event.
Participants are welcome to submit questions in advance. To help us tailor the session and ensure we can address as many questions as possible during the event, we encourage advance questions to be submitted by Tuesday 5 May 2026, by emailing NPTPathfinder@energysecurity.gov.uk. Questions received after this point will still be considered where possible.
How to apply
You must submit a completed expression of interest (EOI) form by 11.59pm on 12 May 2026. Send your EOI form to NPTPathfinder@energysecurity.gov.uk.
If you submit an EOI by the deadline, DESNZ will provide you with access to the online submission portal.

What you need to submit
Once you have access, you will need to submit the following forms via the online submission portal by 11.59pm on 12 June 2026:
- annex A: project plan forms (Power, ICC and Waste, Hydrogen, GGR, Power BECCS)
- annex B: initial cost assessment forms
- annex C: financial statement
- annex D1: economic benefits form
