What changed

The National Park Service (NPS) has officially withdrawn a final rule concerning motor vehicles at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, with the withdrawal effective March 18, 2026. This action terminates the rulemaking process that began with a final rule published on January 13, 2025. The withdrawal is a direct result of H.J. Res. 60, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the NPS rule under the Congressional Review Act, which was signed into law on May 23, 2025.

Regulated entities and the public are advised that the previously published final rule is no longer in effect and the rulemaking process has been terminated. No further action is required by regulated parties as the rule has been nullified. The NPS has provided contact information for inquiries regarding this withdrawal.
