Renewables Obligation Certificate Issue Schedule 2026-2027
Summary
Ofgem has published the Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) issue schedule for the 2026-2027 period. The guidance outlines the deadlines for submitting ROC output data and the intended dates for ROC issuance by Ofgem.
What changed
Ofgem has released the ROC issue schedule for the 2026-2027 period, detailing the submission deadlines for ROC output data and the expected dates for Ofgem to issue ROCs. This schedule applies to electricity generation from April 2026 to March 2027.
Operators must submit their ROC output data by the dates specified in Column A of the schedule. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in suspended ROCs and delayed issuance. Micro-generating stations with a declared net capacity of 50 kW or less have an annual submission deadline of 31 May 2027. Operators experiencing difficulties must notify Ofgem before the submission deadline.
What to do next
- Review the ROC issue schedule for 2026-2027.
- Ensure ROC output data is submitted by the specified deadlines (Column A).
- Notify Ofgem in advance if submission problems are anticipated.
Penalties
Data submitted after the deadline in Column A will be suspended, and ROCs may not be issued by the date in Column B. Generators will be expected to provide reasons for late submission.

If an operator has problems submitting ROC output data to Ofgem within the timeframes, we should be notified before the relevant date in Column A. If data for Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) is submitted to Ofgem after the date shown in Column A it will be suspended and Ofgem will look to generators to provide reasons as to why the data was submitted late. In these cases, it is unlikely that ROCs will be issued by the date shown in column B.
Micro-generating stations
Operators of micro-generating stations with a declared net capacity of 50 kW or less (or their agents) that have notified Ofgem that they want ROCs to be issued on an annual basis, must provide data for output and input electricity for the period 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 by 31 May 2027 at the latest. Our generator guidance and agent guidance provides more information on this.
For individual micro-generating stations in Northern Ireland we provide detailed instructions in the register user guide. In the majority of cases, data should be submitted via the register.
