Summary

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has vacated the previously established comment deadlines for Avista Corporation's application to increase its energy efficiency rider rates. New comment deadlines will be set to allow for additional public input on the proposed rate adjustment.

What changed

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) has issued an order vacating the comment deadlines for Avista Corporation's application (Case No. AVU-E-26-01) to increase its Schedule 91 Energy Efficiency Tariff Rider Adjustment rates by approximately 7.4%. The original comment deadlines, established on March 5, 2026, have been vacated to allow for additional public input following a recommendation from Commission Staff, given the procedural schedule and the magnitude of the requested increase.

Regulated entities and the public are notified that new written comment deadlines will be reestablished. The current deadline for submitting written comments is April 10, 2026, with reply comments due by April 17, 2026. Interested parties should monitor the Commission's website for any further procedural updates or modifications to these deadlines. Failure to submit comments by the established deadlines may limit participation in the proceedings.

What to do next

  1. Review the Idaho PUC's Order No. 36964 regarding Avista's rate increase application.
  2. Submit written comments by April 10, 2026, if opposing or supporting the application.
  3. File reply comments by April 17, 2026, if applicable.
