The public is invited to virtual public comment hearings concerning Atmos Energy's gas rate increase proposal, Proceeding No. 25AL-0499G. Atmos Energy delivers natural gas to 65 Colorado communities including Greeley, Steamboat Springs, Craig, Salida, Gunnison, Canon City, Lamar, Cortez and Durango.
Atmos Energy filed a rate case with the PUC on Nov. 25, 2025, seeking an increase in base rates for natural gas service in order to recover costs associated with system operations and infrastructure investment. Atmos is also seeking Commission approval to implement a new rider (or bill charge) to capture the effects of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act and potential changes to state and federal tax laws.
The company is requesting a net increase in annual gas base rate revenues of approximately $17.56 million, representing a 13.8% increase. If approved as filed, average residential customer monthly bill increases will vary, depending on customer location: $5.47/month for customers in the North rate area, $5.32/month for customers in the Southeast rate area, and $5.61/month for customers in the Southwest rate area.

- The morning public comment hearing will be held from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. The hearing will end at the completion of public comments, but no earlier than 12:15PM.
- The afternoon public comment hearing will be held from 4PM to 6PM. The hearing will end at the completion of the public comments, but no earlier than 5:15PM.

April 8: Monthly Commission Public Comment Opportunity:
The Commission accepts virtual public comment during the Commission's 2nd weekly meeting of the month (i.e., the 2nd Wednesday). The PUC holds formal meetings at 9 AM every Wednesday of the month, except for holidays. All meetings are streamed on the PUC’s YouTube page. Due to building construction, the meeting will be held virtually.

- Registration in advance is encouraged, but not required, for public comment. The registration link will be posted the Friday before the hearing and can be accessed from the PUC Calendar.
