DOE Voluntary Agreements and Plans of Action Notice
Summary
The Department of Energy (DOE) issued a notice announcing a series of closed meetings held under the Defense Production Act. These meetings discussed the implementation of a Voluntary Agreement and potential Plans of Action with entities in the nuclear fuel industry.
What changed
The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a notice regarding closed meetings held pursuant to the Defense Production Act (DPA). These meetings, which took place in February 2026, focused on the implementation of a Voluntary Agreement and potential accompanying Plans of Action within the nuclear fuel industry. The DOE determined these meetings were closed to the public because they were likely to disclose trade secrets or confidential commercial information, as permitted under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c).
This notice serves as an announcement of past events and does not impose new obligations or deadlines on regulated entities. Compliance officers should note the DOE's engagement with the nuclear fuel industry under the DPA, particularly concerning voluntary agreements and plans of action related to reactors, recycling, reprocessing, mining, milling, fabrication, deconversion, enrichment, and conversion.
