Summary

The Department of Energy (DOE) is requesting a three-year extension for its generic clearance to collect qualitative feedback on agency service delivery. This notice seeks public comments on the extension of the information collection request, which is managed under OMB Control Number 1910-5160.

What changed

The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a notice requesting public comments on its intention to extend for three years the "Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery" (OMB Control Number 1910-5160). This action is being taken under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 and is authorized by Executive Order 13571. The DOE is seeking feedback on the necessity, utility, accuracy, and clarity of the information collection, as well as ways to minimize respondent burden.

Regulated entities and interested parties are invited to submit comments by March 26, 2026. While this is a notice for comment on an existing information collection, it is important to review the DOE's proposed extension and provide feedback if concerns exist regarding the collection of qualitative feedback. The DOE estimates 200,000 respondents and 74,000 burden hours annually for this collection, with no associated cost burden.

What to do next

  1. Submit comments to the DOE regarding the extension of the qualitative feedback collection by March 26, 2026.
