What changed
The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has published a notice proposing to add a new system of records, 'Information Technology Support System,' to its Privacy Act inventory. This system will encompass records pertaining to civilian personnel, military members, and contractor employees involved in the DIA's Enterprise Information Technology (IT) Operations. The records will include basic identifying information such as name and SSN, and will be maintained for managing IT services like password issuance and incident reporting.
This notice serves as a standard procedural step under the Privacy Act of 1974. While the proposed action is effective October 4, 2007, the DIA will consider comments received that might lead to a different outcome. Regulated entities, specifically government agencies and their contractors, should be aware of this addition to the DIA's record-keeping practices.
