What changed

The Ireland DPC announced its welcome of the EDPB's CEF implementation report on the right to erasure, documenting coordinated national enforcement actions across 32 EU/EEA supervisory authorities during 2025. The report identifies issues observed among some controllers and provides recommendations for improving compliance with Article 17 erasure obligations.

Data controllers operating within EU/EEA jurisdictions should review the report to understand the issues identified by supervisory authorities and the recommended practices for handling right-to-be-forgotten requests. The shift in 2026 CEF focus to transparency and information obligations signals that this will be a priority enforcement area going forward.
