Update on Suspicious Death Investigation in Haverhill, New Hampshire

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Haverhill Police Department Chief David Appleby announce further information related to the suspicious death in Haverhill, New Hampshire.

In the early morning hours of April 20, 2026, around 1:07am, members of the Haverhill Police Department received multiple 911 calls directing them to an apartment on Nelson Street in Haverhill.  Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered the body of a deceased adult male inside the apartment.

The deceased victim has been identified as Demetrius White (DOB: 12/29/2003) of Springfield, Massachusetts.  An autopsy is being conducted today by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Late yesterday evening, Jayden McClanahan (DOB: 02/03/2005) of Hartford, Connecticut was arrested on burglary charges related to this investigation.  He was held on preventative detention.  An arraignment will be held at 1:00pm in Haverhill.
